Pepino melon - Solanum muricatum

The Pepino melon belongs to the solanaceae family. Our fruit is oval and elongated in shape, its weight is between 300 and 400g and with 8 to 9cm in diameter. The crust is smooth, soft and thin, its colour is light yellow with purple streaks along the fruit. The pulp is fleshy, juicy and tender. Its flavour is mild resembling a combination of melon and cucumber.
